For all you new readers

Throwback: Jude at 4 mos.  He is my atonement child.

About a month ago, I wrote a post on having had an abortion.  It was one of the single most defining moments of my life, and definitely one of the darkest.  However, through that moment about 6 years ago, I learned more about the reality of grace and forgiveness.  The blog is being featured at The Identify Shift.  If you want to get to know more about me, that post will take you straight to my soul.  And whatever opinions you have on abortion, I promise that it will change your thinking- not in a way to judge the situation from any side, but as a way to understand the hurting and the broken of this world.  I hope you read it.

I read your post the other day. I really commend you for having the courage to post it. But you are also allowing God to use you in huge ways!! The words and thoughts you shared need to be heard. Too {{TOO!!}} often, Christians do forget the person that is in the midst of things we don't support. The person needs to be loved. Have you read Abby Johnson's book "Unplanned"? I read it a few years ago. It's like the extended version of your post. Any time the topic of abortion comes up, I always refer back to that book. It is powerful.

Very powerful post..

I admire your courage, I can imagine how difficult it must have been to be so raw and honest and share this part of your story.

You are beautiful and you are completely right - it is so important to think about the girls and the women as well as the cause.

Found you through the gap giveaway. Enjoyed reading your identity post. What a beautiful picture of not only Gods sovereignty but also your own story of forgiveness, grace, and redemption. My husband is an ordained minister in the PCA and we currently work with college students through RUF. Thankfully we have NOT had any date rape or sexual sin that has ended in abortion (that we know of) up to this point in the ministry but know that it is rampant on the college campus. Sad reality of a fallen world
