Five Months!!!!
Ok I'm not exactly sure how this is all going to go. Michael has been begging begging begging me to start using a tumblr account. He has had a blog through tumblr for awhile and harrasses me about how much more user friendly it is. When I started this blog, I used blogger because that was the first one that came to mind. And I really didn't care either way. I don't know that I would have attempted a switch but I have so many pictures to load from Jude's 5 month day. The cool thing about tumblr is it makes it into a slide show which is less cluttered feeling. So I'm trying it out. The only bummer is that I can't include pics and vids in the same post. I am undecided, but thought I would give it a go and at least Michael will quit harrassing me. I would really appreciate comments and feedback from those of you who follow. Which do you prefer- tumblr or blogger?
Spring
Spring Break has been gorgeous in the DETX. Ironically as I type this, we are expecting snow in the next 24 hours. Go figure. However, we did have some nice outside time with Jude. He laid on a blanket in the shade while mom and dad weeded. He spent most of the time trying to eat the wind which is his typical outdoor activity.
Earlier this day, I put Jude in his swing while I made coffee and breakfast for Michael. I put on our Baby Einstein dvd just to entertain him for those few minutes. He thinks it is H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S.
Book Worm
Jude has been showing an interest in reading lately. I guess since I've been home I've been more apt to take the time to do so. As a teacher, I love this. Plus, on average, I read one book a week, so obviously I'm a fan.
Dad Time
While uploading pictures from my camera, I noticed this lot of goodies. Apparently Michael took over the photographer role one morning when he and Jude were hanging out, having man time obviously.Michael still watches Jude in the mornings while I'm at work. Perfect deal really because Jude is still only with a sitter maybe 5 hours a day. Working moms, I'm sure you understand, but its just always better to have your child with a parent.
Anyway, he got some good shots. He does a good job of using the lighting to his advantage. One of these days, I'm going to figure that out too!
Jude loves these little butterflies from his rainforest mat. I guess that are easy for him to hold and small and soft enough to fit in his mouth easily.
It is wrong that I think pictures of my child crying are cute? Probably.

Walkin' Yes Indeed
Now that spring has finally sprung in DFW we are getting to use our fab stroller. It's so nice to get out and enjoy the pleasant weather while it lasts. I'm all too aware that too quickly it will turn to 100+ degree summers. Yuck.Jude really has enjoyed being in the stroller so far. Although, he really just goes to sleep. Still, that must mean he enjoys it enough to relax right off. Nothing else puts him out like our stroller does.
Jude is particularly fond of the wind. We've always known that Jude liked to have his hair blown on. That hasn't changed. The funny thing is that he sticks his tongue out over and over like he's trying to eat the wind or something.
Anyway, we've been enjoying this and its a great way to lose my 10lbs of remaining baby fat.

Jude Lou Who
It's no secret that Jude's hair is wild. Even at his ultrasound, that was all the tech could talk about. "He has soo much hair! I can't believe it!" During my delivery, I kid you not, my obgyn styled his hair in between pushes. (Sorry, that was probably tmi)
That being said, I guess we shouldn't be surprised when on occasion our child wakes up looking like a who from Whoville.
My Obsession
I'm obsessed with taking pictures of Jude sleeping. You'd think this would get better as he grows, but I think my obsession grows as he grows.
Lately, he's become a fan of holding his lovie while he sleeps. I realized I was wrong when I thought there was nothing cuter than a sleeping baby. A sleeping baby holding a lovie is cuter.

Breathe, breathe in the air
We've been going green in our household lately. Spring certainly invokes all manner of earthy sentimentality anyway. Since we are now proud homeowners, we get to think about all sorts of lovely things like lawn maintenance.
In an effort to show our love and support for Mother Earth, we have selected to manual operated lawn mower. It's actually really easy and fun to use! Plus, there are no loud noises to wake up napping babies, no having to run to the Shell station to get gas, etc. Win win right? We think so. It's nice to feel like we are doing our part, plus Jude will grow up seeing us doing at least something right by this old world.
After all, our little future Dentonite hippie needs to know about all things earth loving. I mean all his future classmates will grow up the same way theoretically.
Have I mentioned I love being in Denton? I really do. It has the best of all things American. We are close to Dallas. We have a cute little old fashioned downtown square. There's plenty of festivals and live music. There's plenty of hippies and eclectic folk. Plus we have a great church. What more could you ask for our of life?
On a side note, our yard was full of bluebonnet plants. How to you let bluebonnets grow a foot tall all over your yard without looking raggedy. Literally. We had no grass out front. Just bluebonnet plants. We obviously cut them. I need a botanist to help me deal with our yard plants. Let me know if you are willing.

Things I Love- Daddy
Now that Jude is really getting socially interactive, its been amazing to see how much he's come to love his daddy! At first, he seemed really attached to me as all babies are. He still is, but we are starting to see the parent personalities come out, which is fun. Michael is definitely the fun parent, and Jude knows it already. He gets so excited when he sees Michael. He recognizes certain noises Michael makes for Jude too, which also excite him.
This morning he was so excited to try to get his daddy out of bed. He doesn't seem to care that daddy works late. He just wanted daddy up!
Top of the Mornin to Ya!
Happy St. Patty's Day!!!
We are celebrating today in true Irish style- at least as much as a breastfeeding momma can!
Michael is watching No Reservations- Ireland while cooking. We took a picture like the Irish flag. And when Jude wakes up, we will introduce him to this awesome music!

baby kisses
Hey Jude,
When you look up at me with your big gray eyes, I must admit I melt. I just can't help but showering you with baby kisses. I'm so glad you get so excited when I do. I know the day will come when I'll go to kiss your cheek and you'll brush it off because your friends are watching and I'm ruining your cool report with the guys. Until that day comes though, I'm going to take advantage of those baby cheeks all I can.
Love Momma
PS- I promise to do my best to not ever embarrass you too badly.

Ring Around the Armie
Jude loves to play with his set of rings. They're colorful, they rattle. What more could a 4 month old want right?
There is one slight problem with this seemingly perfect set of rings. They fit right around Jude's arms perfectly. In fact, they seem to end up at Jude's armpits 90% of the time.
Everything starts out perfectly. He gets his little hand and fingers to wrap around the ring. He manages to get it all coordinated in to his mouth. Then...

Toe Talents
Jude has discovered his toes. He's like a little monkey now, using all 4 sets of phalanges to the greatest extent possible.
