Christmas Dos

You may recall that we celebrated two Christmases this year. Our second Christmas was celebrated with the in laws at the end of January. Really, it was just us opening up presents for Jude with the tree up. Still, here's a couple good ones.

More weekend pics

There are no words to describe how much I look forward to Saturday mornings with Jude. Expect quite a few of these posts....

I think I can! I think I can!

Jude is really trying to roll over. He is consistently turning to his side to reach for his toys right now. Just a little more oomph and he'll be there. I can't believe my baby is almost mobile. His arms and legs are getting soo strong, almost scarily so. There have been several instances where I've been scared he's going to flop right out of my arms. He really is growing up. He's going to be so excited when he can roll over and get to things he wants! I can't wait to see it! Here's some pics with where he is thus far:

Happy Weekend!

About 5:00 Sunday evening, I always start a countdown. To the weekend. I just really am living for the time I can be home with Jude (and Michael).

Saturday mornings were always me and Michael's thing. Our very first family tradition. We would sleep in until around 10. Then, we would get up and make a big breakfast of eggs, bacon, potatoes, pancakes, coffee. All the good stuff.

Having Jude hasn't changed that much. We still make a big breakfast Saturday morning. He has added a new tradition though. On Saturday's, when Jude wakes us up around 8:30, I always bring him into our bed and feed him. The three of us lay around while he eats. Then, Jude fills us in on all his nighttime happenings. For whatever reason, he always has a lot to say on Saturday morning. The funny thing is that he really seems like he is carrying on a conversation. He is full of voice inflections and pauses like in real sentences. I would give anything to know what he was thinking when he told us all this.

This new Saturday morning ritual has become so precious to me. After working all week and missing out on so much, I really treasure Jude telling me everything about his week. While in the moment, I know that he'll be 29 years old, and I'll still remember Saturday mornings with Jude where Michael and I would lay in bed and listen to him talk to us.

I'm looking forward to more of this and that tomorrow. Hope your weekend is just as precious!

PS I hope you notice in the videos how much Jude smiles. He gets so freaked out by the flash that I can only catch his smiles on video. His pics come out all scared looking.

Heads or Tails

About a week ago, Jude started sleeping through the night. Sometimes. It probably works out to a 50-50 chance he'll do it. He will for a couple nights in a row, then be back to waking at 3:30 for a couple nights. It cycles.

The nights he does sleep until 6:30 are wonderful. That extra sleep really makes the difference when you are working full time- especially with a class full of children!

I'll be honest though- there's a part of me that likes when he wakes up at 3:30. Sure, it's less sleep. However, when you are working full time, all minutes with your baby are precious- even the ones at 3:30. I only get about 4 hours in the evening with Jude once I get home from work. I like have those extra 30 minutes of feed time to cuddle with him.

To be honest, I don't know which I truly prefer. What can I say? Jude's worth a lack of sleep!

ohh ohh ohh the sweetest thing

My baby reached for me today
ohh ohh ohh the sweetest thing :)

Today when I picked Jude up from his sitter, he reached for me! An actual moving of his arms out toward me letting me know he missed me. There is nothing like knowing your baby recognizes you and loves you and misses you as much as you miss him. Nothing.

Robin, his sitter, was holding him while I talked to him. He listened for a few seconds and then put both arms over her shoulder towards me. I took him and he just cuddled up. The sweetest thing.

Ice Day 2010

When Jude was 11 weeks old, we had an ice day. These days are always filled with mixed emotions because on the one hand, I get the day off. On the other hand, I lose my day off in May. This particular snow day was pretty annoying because we had only been to work 2 days since Christmas. I wasn't even burnt out yet! Jude and I had fun though with the camera. He was making some awesome faces! He's become quite the Mr. Personality.

Here he is in mid sentence. Usually saying something like 'ahhhooooooo'

Hmm really mom?

So excited!

Ok is it just me, or do his eyes look adorably sweet here?

Mommy, you're so funny...

Personal fave- frog tongue strikes again

It's pictures like these that make me wonder if Jude will be one of those lucky people who can do the eyebrow raise thing. If so, I will be jealous. And also very proud.

Confusing this kid again...

More froggy time..

Happy little froggie!
